Sharnaz Shahid

Deputy Online Editor

Based in the London office, I have been a part of the HELLO! family since 2016 when I joined as a writer. As HELLO!'s Deputy Online Editor, I am responsible for bringing in exclusives, approving article pitches, planning and delivering our coverage of major events as well as nurturing relationships with PRs.

The past few years have been my most rewarding professionally - I led the magazine's online coverage of Queen Elizabeth II's death, her State funeral and King Charles and Queen Camilla's coronation.

Securing high-profile interviews and supporting junior members of the team with their interviews and writing is a highlight of my job. One of my biggest accomplishments to date includes our 2023 Laver Cup coverage, where I secured the exclusive access for HELLO! to the gala. I was the only journalist to interview tennis greats Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic onboard the Thames Clipper heading to the event.

Other responsibilities include leading a team of writers to pitch the best stories to Apple News editors, with the aim of getting into Top Stories ahead of competitors. I also liaise with PRs to gain exclusive access for HELLO! at red-carpet premieres, award shows and parties.

I have been in the industry for over a decade, starting as a postgraduate in Broadcast Journalism from the London College of Communication to working in various newsrooms, before joining HELLO!. Previously, at MailOnline, I was seconded to the Sydney office to deputise the showbiz team at Daily Mail Australia. Other places of work include: the BBC, Best Magazine, The Guardian, Digital Spy, EntertainmentWise and the Edinburgh Television Festival.

When not covering the latest news and features, I can be found at the hottest new launches or celebrity parties. A self-proclaimed foodie, I love experimenting with recipes and trying new restaurants.
